Answers to common questions about valuations, security, pricing, and payment from 24 Hour Gold.
Questions about free valuation packs and item assessment.
Some of your items might not be hallmarked or the stamp has been worn away. If you are unsure about what carat your items are, don't worry, our methods of testing will be able to accurately identify the item. We can test and validate all items once they arrive at our valuation centre.
No — we buy gold, silver, platinum, palladium, jewellery, watches, coins, and even costume jewellery that contains precious metals. If you're not sure what something is, send it in and we'll test it for free.
How your items are handled, insured, and protected.
Yes. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery which is tracked, signed for, and insured up to £2,500. Your items are covered from the moment they're accepted at the Post Office to the moment they arrive with us. Every pack includes a pre-paid Special Delivery label.
No problem at all. If you decline, we return everything by tracked, insured post completely free of charge. There is no obligation to sell, and you won't be charged anything.
How offers are calculated and how payment works.
We aim to test and value your items on the day they arrive. Once you accept the offer, payment is sent by bank transfer within 24 hours during business days. Most customers receive funds the same day or the next working day.
We calculate every offer based on the current live spot price and exact weight/purity. We provide a full itemised breakdown and match or beat any genuine written offer.
